It's been 641 days or 1 year and 7 months since I was on a commercial set. Yes, it’s been that long since I have booked a commercial. So when I received the email from my agent last week that I had booked a national SAG commercial, I was beyond amazed, grateful, and in shock. I couldn’t wait to get to set this morning and what a beautiful morning it was, especially in light of all the fires in California and the air pollution. Somehow, where we were filming, it was blue skies and fresh air. The neighborhood was simply lovely and the vibe among the cast and crew was everything.
When it was time to get dressed, I was like a little kid on the first day of school, putting on her new school clothes. During the fitting last week, I had tried on about ten outfits. Some of the clothing had come from production and some was what they had asked me to bring from home. I couldn’t wait to see what they had picked for me to shoot in. It was perfect. Purple, pink, and a hint of orange.
In my segment of the commercial, I’m by myself, but I do have a beautiful dog. It was so awesome tossing the ball and Frisbee with the dog during rehearsal. My husband and I have been threatening to get a dog for over two decades, so it was nice playing the part of a dog owner. When it was time to film, I was ready to bring my A game and I did just that. The director was full of compliments regarding my work. I had a blast. Standing there while the camera was being set up, I felt so at home, so at peace, so fulfilled and excited to be there. I knew in that moment, I was in my PERFECT PURPOSE. I was born to be an actress. I whispered a thank you to God for allowing me to rise up from the ashes of my tumultuous and abusive childhood to become a confident, God fearing, people-loving human being who is living her dream.
That begs the question, what has 2025 brought you so far? Are you living in your PERFECT PURPOSE? If not, why? And if not now, when? Go for it. You won’t regret it. BE BLESSED ALWAYS.
